Lately, I have been contemplating the power of friendships, and believe that we are greatly influenced by the people who surround us. Therefore, we need to choose carefully who we allow to influence us.
I have dear friends, Dave and Gretchen Figge, who not only invest in my wife and I, but also invest into our company as advisors, and have even become mentors to my kids. In fact, Dave has organized a monthly meeting with my son and his closest friends to talk about life, their futures and challenges that they, as teenagers, face. These discussions are empowering and changing the decisions they are making.
I encourage you to actively seek out great friendships. Look for those who can add wisdom, experience and value to your life. It is through these associations that you will experience the true meaning of the word “friendship.”
